| Richie THE Bronx Boys Rocking Crew |
| MY Name Richie As teenagers,in the early mid 80's, we used to run home from School to do homework as fast as we could run outside, Put out a piece of cardboard ,or linoleum and the box (Radio).. Put on our wind breakers, and practice (Up-Rocking),Popping,Footworks,or what is known today as-break dancing one of the movies that inspired us as teenagers. And I will never forget, was "BEAT STREET" Hip Hop was the blood that flowed through the vein (bloodline) of the individual, Which sparked it's adrenaline and ignited ones body and soul. To produce it's talents, skills and potential, through it's creative non violent dances. Dances that kept us all away from all the negativity that surrounded us. Giving us something positive to look forward on our free time, Instead of hanging out with the wrong crowd...doing the wrong things when we had beef ( problems) with other crews/people. We used to battle it out on the street corners, side walks, School yards, and parks,Footwork (Up rocking) Popping,Headpins. Hand spins windmills, the worm, the famous Michale Jackson. Moon walk, and other very creative dancing techniques would. Would be used to battle and beat our opponents!. The best part about it was that weather you won or lost home you will go to practice and get even better at what you already knew or learned newer dancing styles techniques. The culture Hip Hop, and Up-rocking communities also produced Graffiti (Pieces Bombing, throw ups, etc) They all went hand and hand individuals talents skills and potential,Were tied to their maximum abilities which made them better! Although gangs and other crews brought out each others negative tone and out look to Graffiti ( crews and gangs members crossing out each others tags/nmaes or pieces which lead to aggressive violence, etc). Graffiti Up-Rocking Bottom Rocking and Hip Hop will. Forever live on!!! I must also add if it wasn't for "The Bronx Boys" (TBB). And it's originator... "The God father"..."BATCH" ( AKA BATCHY BATCH )-( whom I greatly honored to have met in this life in person! ) Up-Rocking ( Break dancing ) would have never evolved into what it is today! One love and much respect to " THE BRONX BOYS" ( TBB ) Our gratitude goes out to you ALL!!! |
